Learning and Teaching Scotland ("LTS") is the publisher of The Daily What News For Schools in Scotland.

The following privacy statement covers this LTS website at www.thedailywhat.org.uk and will be adhered to by all parties contracted by LTS for the purpose of publishing the website; it does not cover other websites to which links are provided from this website.
The Data Protection Act 1998 protects the rights of individuals by making sure that any organisation that collects or holds information about living people does so in a way that is fair to those people.
LTS takes your privacy seriously and is committed to responsible handling of personal information in accordance with our Information Charter, which is as follows.

The production and hosting of The Daily What News is undertaken for LTS by service partner Tinopolis, which implements all the privacy policies of LTS and its own privacy policies.
Tinopolis is able to automatically gather information from users of web sites it maintains and it may collect and store the following information on behalf of LTS:
access logs collected by our cookie system
the data & the IP address assigned to users that visit our web site. (The details stored are the IP address is provided by your Internet Service Provider and is used while you are online to route content to your PC, TV or mobile).
This information is collected to facilitate the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the service, and is also used as one of our key service improvement monitors. This information may be stored on Tinopolis computers for LTS use.
